January has been a busy month for me! I have spent a lot of time trying to secure a job, in a
new field from the last one. I have also been coaching basketball in the rec. dept. once again,
as well as attending local games.
As far as art, I have been visiting local galleries, for the simple enjoyment & insight. I have been
working with local artists on many different things. A lot which involves shows & charities(talking
stages, bouncing ideas). I have also continued to make contacts with people that may be able to
help me combine the arts & basketball(sports) with inner city youth in mind. I have also of course
been working on new art. I should be having a show in the near future, although I have not gotten
a set date yet, I was recently told by a gallery director that he is working on getting me in. You can
go to facebook or http://www.myartspace.com/T.L.Anderson/ to see a couple of works in progress.
Peace & take care,
Tom

Sorry, I've been away!
Hello everybody,
So sorry I've been away for a stretch, but for one thing I had a minor medical issue to attend to.
The other issues are emotional as I am in that roller coaster period from Oct.31st-through- March 24th.
Halloween, Thanksgiving,Christmas,New year,Feb 13th(my twin sons birthday), March 24th(the ann-
iversary of the death of one of them).......Miss him all year long, but this time frame is an endurance
check for me. This tests my love for others & my resolve to live more so than the rest of the days in
the year. Like the tides with their ebb and flow, so too go my emotions. Sometimes a little stronger
as if in a seaside storm. I have yet to be pulled in by the undertow. The message for me is that I am
strong because I am weak, and ask for strength from above, from where the light shines for us all!
Yes these are the days that make me unafraid, if only to survive to give to others.
One other thing is the discouragement of working hard on my artwork, fundraising & just trying to
have a sustainable income in this down economy. Simply put I NEED to get paid for what I do as
much as I do like doing volunteer service! The two must go hand in hand! I now must go get some
work done.....till' later... Peace & take care.

One day event-- report
I enjoyed the Oct 24th one day event at the Lachapelle funeral parlor in Pawtucket, R.I.
There were some very nice works of art & the conversations on healing through art were
enlightening. I was able to meet a lot of new people & personally met someone I met
on-line. Very enjoyable evening for me.

Dual post
I just finished preparing and delivering 3 painting for a one day event in Pawtucket, R.I. for Sat. Oct. 24th.
This is "The faces of adversity" show at Lachapelle funeral parlor--5pm-10pm-- There is a $10.00 admission
with all the proceeds going to - Knowledge is power and The Institute for the study & practice of
Non-violence.
On Thurs. I attended the opening reception for the "Cancer survivors & their families" show at the U.R.I.
gallery in downtown Providence, R.I. of which I have a painting & 2 short poems. As I had expected I was
impressed & inspired by the artworks and the cancer survivors behind them. Such courage & resolve leaves
me with no recourse but to leave excuses out when trying to reach my goals. This show is still on until Oct. 31st.
