Views up close--local art

I visited with two local artists this weekend. It's so enjoyable to see
the works up close & talk with the artists in person. I first went on
Sunday 9/13/09 to see the works of  Lydia Stein @ AS220's 94
Mathewson st. gallery in downtown Providence.  I liked the unique
style & ideas of her works. It was a very informative & enjoyable
visit for me.
I next went to view the works of Julie Beck on Monday 9/14/09,
@ Tazza, also in downtown Providence. I first started following
Julie's blog here on blogspot. I was caught by the items she painted,
as they were familiar to me from younger days. It was again a very
informative & enjoyable visit.
Thanks to both Lydia & Julie! I need to close with the fact that I am
not a critic, but a fellow artist & lover of art. With this being said, I
think one should see for themselves.
                            Take care, all,
                                       Tom

  1. Nice post Tom. I so agree with encouraging others to check out the work of fellow artists. It's enlightening and you meet a lot of nice people too.

The banner on your blog is spectacular! Great work.

  2. Thank you Kathleen. It is so enjoyable for
the reasons you stated. I also saw the gallery
director that gave me a show the year my son
died(2004), and I just called him & set up an
appointment on wed 23rd for a possible new
    showing.
    Take care,
    Tom
